LASIK

Currently the procedure of choice is laser insitu keratomileusis, or LASIK. The procedure involves a surgeon using a special device that creates a flap in the cornea. This flap is folded over and a laser then molds the exposed area to the desired prescription.

Typically, the procedure is performed on both eyes the same day. After the surgery, follow up visits are neccessary to ensure proper healing. These visits are usually done in Wahpeton,ND at Prairie Vision Center. I have followed many patients and have been very impressed with the results.

Many of the patients have had 20/20 vision after the procedure. While the procedure is intended to allow you to throw away the glasses and contacts some will find a small prescription is necessary for certain tasks.
